The Facilities and Grounds Team Member is highly motivated and committed to providing excellence in our facilities and on our team.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
•Assist with general maintenance and repairs of internal and external buildings and grounds and equipment;
•Assist with general custodial tasks as needed - including but not limited to, vacuuming, stocking supplies, trash removal, and other duties as assigned;
•Initiate and complete work orders at the direction of the Director of Facilities;
•Effectively use and safely operate all facilities tools, equipment, supplies and vehicles according to OSHA and Local / State / Federal regulations and church safety policies;
•Assist the Facilities Maintenance Manager in ensuring the building is secure before and after operational hours;
•Assist the Facilities Maintenance Manager in ensuring the safety of the grounds before, after, and during inclement weather (ex: salting the parking lots and walkways);
•Coordinate with the Director of Facilities to understand and execute the layout for all events;
•Set-up and breakdown of all events (moving tables and chairs, other needs as directed);
•Maintain rooms and spaces to ensure they are ready for meetings and events;
•Communicate to the Facilities Maintenance Manager any maintenance issues (bathroom issues, HVAC not working, lights not working, etc.);
•Assist with cleanup after event as needed (may include but is not limited to laundering tablecloths and towels, sweeping, mopping, bathroom cleaning, trash disposal);
•Assist the Facilities Team with large event set-ups, provide facilities support during and after event, and other related needs as assigned;
•Assist with other facilities projects to support church ministry events as assigned by the Director of Facilities;
•Assist with other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
•High School graduate or GED required;
•Working knowledge of computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills required;
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in general knowledge and experience in building maintenance preferred.
Requirements
•Has a valid TN driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) to drive church vehicles;
•Possess strong verbal and written communication skills;
•Able to read and understand instructions and manuals and follow directions;
•Able to perform all tasks assigned with attention to detail, speed and accuracy;
•React to change productively, be adaptable with workflow, and skilled at multi-tasking and problem solving;
•Able to operate all assigned equipment and machinery safely and as necessary;
•Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency with all maintenance and set-up and breakdown of all events;
•Provide friendly and positive attitude with church staff, members and guests;
•Work well with a team but is also capable of self-motivation with minimal supervision;
•Available to work Sundays and holidays; evenings and weekends as needed;
•Able to speak and understand some Spanish preferred;
•Pass background check and drug screening.
Physical Requirements
•Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations;
•Able to stoop, squat, sit, crawl, walk on flat or uneven surfaces, lift, climb, twist, bend, for intermittent to continuous periods of time;
•Requires physical exertion to stand, walk, lift, grab, press, reach and push to perform essential duties;
•Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally to frequently;
•Requires activities that involve being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, and exposure to dirt, dust, and odors;
•Able to work outdoors in all but extreme inclement weather.
