PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
•Perform a wide variety of skilled work in repairs and maintenance of equipment, HVAC, building interior and exterior, and grounds;
•Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive preventative maintenance procedures;
•Assist in organizing safety methods and techniques on mechanical and safety equipment and appliances in compliance with OSHA and regulatory guidelines;
•Effectively use and safely operate all facilities tools, equipment, supplies and vehicles according to OSHA and Local / State / Federal regulations and church safety policies;
•Manage HVAC maintenance, repairs, controls and scheduling;
•Conduct frequent inspections of all buildings, grounds, and equipment to make observations and correct any maintenance issues;
•Meet with contractors for building, grounds, and equipment maintenance and repairs as directed by the Director of Facilities;
•Maintain inventory of general maintenance supplies and purchase as approved;
•Ensure the building is secure before and after operational hours;
•Ensure the safety of the grounds before, after, and during inclement weather (ex: salting the parking lots and walkways);
•Responsible as primary on-site Facilities support on Sunday mornings and Christmas Eve, and for other evening and weekend ministry and outside group events as needed;
•Assist the Facilities Team with event set-ups, provide facilities support during and after event, and other related needs as assigned;
•Assist with other facilities projects to support church ministry events as assigned by the Director of Facilities;
•Assist with other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
•High School graduate or GED required, bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred;
•Working knowledge of computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills required, experience with work order systems preferred;
•In-depth knowledge, highly skilled, trained and experienced in all maintenance categories and systems (general repairs, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical/HVAC, construction) preferred
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in general HVAC systems maintenance or trade area required.
Requirements
•Has a valid TN driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) to drive church vehicles;
•Possess strong verbal and written communication skills;
•Able to read and understand instructions and manuals and follow directions;
•Able to perform all tasks assigned with attention to detail, speed and accuracy;
•React to change productively, be adaptable with workflow, and skilled at multi-tasking and problem solving;
•Able to operate all equipment and machinery safely and as necessary;
•Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency with all maintenance and repairs;
•Provide friendly and positive attitude with church staff, members and guests;
•Work well with a team but is also capable of self-motivation with minimal supervision;
•Available to work Sundays and holidays; evenings and weekends as needed;
•Available to respond to after-hours emergencies when necessary;
•Able to speak and understand some Spanish preferred;
•Pass background check and drug screening
Physical Requirements
•Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations;
•Able to stoop, squat, sit, crawl, walk on flat or uneven surfaces, lift, climb, twist, bend, for intermittent to continuous periods of time;
•Requires physical exertion to stand, walk, lift, grab, press, reach and push to perform essential duties;
•Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally to frequently;
•Requires activities that involve being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, and exposure to dirt, dust, and odors
•Able to work outdoors in all but extreme inclement weather.
