Thank you for taking the initiative to serve at ClearView. Fellowship, camaraderie and new friendships are some of the many by-products of serving in a ministry that is reaching others. Whether you serve in our adult, student, children, preschool, worship, guest services or other ministries, you will find opportunities that fit every skill and personality.

The first step to becoming a Volunteer at ClearView is to complete the Volunteer Ministry Application found in the following pages. Soon after you’ve returned your application, you’ll be contacted by one of our ministry leaders who will then schedule a time to meet with you personally.

Prerequisites to Ministry

  • Agree with the mission and focus of ClearView
  • Complete and clear a background check
  • Complete this application to volunteer in a a ministry area
  • Support the pastors and leadership of ClearView
  • Complete an in-person interview

Requisites for Ministry

  • Be faithful to attend worship services and be a part of a small group
  • Give at least three days notice if you know you will be absent and work with staff to find a replacement
  • Be at your designated post 15-30 minutes before start time, depending on the ministry’s needs
  • Give 30 days notice when resigning your position
  • Be committed to your assigned position
  • Balance priorities for family with ministry responsibilities
  • Attend all meetings and training courses in your area of ministry
  • Give financially on a consistent basis to ClearView

VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

GUEST SERVICES

Greeter
Provide a warm welcome to all who enter the church. Greeters provide helpful information to those needing it, guide guests to their desired locations, and ensure that our entry ways are presentable to the public.

Usher
Individuals who are located just inside the worship center or chapel. Ushers guide guests to seats. Ushers also take up the offering during the service.

Security Team
This team works with our local law enforcement officer (who is on campus) to properly diffuse undesirable situations.

Medical Team
This volunteer will serve in an “on-call” role each Sunday morning. The responsibilities are to be available by phone should a medical situation arise on ClearView’s campus.

Parking Lot Team
This team consists of individuals who are the very first impression of ClearView. With a warm smile and a wave, they welcome all those arrive to our church and assist in helping people find a parking spot.

PRESCHOOL MINISTRY

Baby Room Caregiver
Care for babies and connect relationally with their families. They provide excellent care for babies in a secure environment so that parents can participate in small groups and worship.

Group Leader
Connect relationally with preschoolers (One Year Old – Kindergarten) and their families. They attend preschool worship and implement classroom activities that foster the spiritual growth of the children in their rooms.

Welcome Desk Leader
Portrays an excellent first impression of ClearView and the Preschool area to families. They also provide security, register and escort guests, and offer information to parents. This role helps with making the decision to combine classes as needed, oversees the attendance process and helps with security and first aid issues that may arise.

Hallway Coordinator
Provides support by checking in Group Leaders and being sure that each classroom has the needed supplies.

Worship Team
Creates an engaging and interactive environment for preschoolers to worship and experience a Bible story. This team consists of Storytellers and Worship Leaders.

Production Team (sound, media, lighting)
Works behind the scenes to execute technical elements for preschool worship room.

Paid Childcare Team
Serves on a team to provide childcare for ClearView sponsored events during the week.

Office Volunteers
Provide essential support to Preschool ministry staff by preparing classroom supplies and helping with special projects during the week. The schedule and projects for these tasks vary and usually is very flexible for the volunteer.

CHILDREN MINISTRY

Group Leader
Develop relationships with children while teaching the Bible story and leading in-class activities. Curriculum and supplies are provided based on the leaders’ selection of activities.

Worship Group Leader
Develop relationships with children while facilitating discussion that prepares their hearts and minds prior to large group worship.

Welcome Desk Leader 
Create the first impression of ClearView and the Children’s Area for first-time guests. Guide new families through the check-in process to make them feel welcome and informed.

Hallway Coordinator
Support classroom group leaders and Children’s Ministry staff by insuring group leaders have supplies. Oversee attendance, assist in the resource room, and help with security/first aid issues that may arise.

Worship Drama Volunteer
Lead children’s worship large group teaching time by following a script and acting out their assigned character.

Worship Music Volunteer
Lead children and leaders in music (3-4 songs) during children’s worship large group time.

Production Team Volunteer
Manage videos, slides, lights and sound for our children’s worship large group time.

Special Connections
Serves special needs children and families by allowing parents to worship and attend small group.

Office Volunteer
Provide administrative and project based support for the Children’s Ministry staff by preparing teaching materials, craft supplies, maintaining the resource room, and other projects. Some projects may involve computer skills for trained volunteers.

Backyard Kids Club Host Leader
Site host for Backyard Kid’s Club which includes: bible study, music, recreation and crafts. (Commitment is 3 days during June or July)

Backyard Kids Club Volunteer
Provide support in one of the following areas: host, bible study, music, recreation and crafts. (Commitment is 3 days during June or July)

STUDENT MINISTRY

Group Leader
Teaches and communicates the bible to students while strengthening spiritual and social bonds in a small group setting.

Outreach Organizer
Strengthens social bonds within a small group by focusing on student activities/interest, attendance of small group members, and follow up with guests and students.

Greeter
Manages guest relations for students and families not familiar with student ministry as well as meeting meeting new students on Sunday morning and Wednesday nights. This role connects students and families to student ministry staff and small group leaders.

Production Team (sound, media, lighting)
Works behind the scenes to execute technical elements for large group worship in the Basement or Station.

Special Connections
Serves special needs students and families by allowing parents to worship and attend small group.

Office Volunteer
There are occasions when ClearView’s office has different projects that require additional sets of hands to complete. The schedule and projects for these tasks vary and usually is very flexible for the volunteer.

ADULT MINISTRY

Group Leader
Responsible for facilitating their small group in the discipleship process by making sure three elements for ultimate transformation are present: Word of God, Spirit of God, People of God

Mid-Week Short Term Leaders
Responsible for leading short term groups to grow individuals through the discipleship process.

Group Specialist
Responsible for assisting individuals in finding and connecting to a group for Christian community.

Follow Up Coordinator (small group)
Responsible for coordinating the guest and member follow up that includes the information of guests following up with them the week after their visit. Following up with individuals or couples that have missed 3 weeks or more in a row.

Missions Coordinator (small group)
Responsible for coordinating quarterly and on-going missions opportunities for the group with the missions ministry office.

Fellowship Coordinator (small group)
Responsible for coordinating events for the group outside of Sunday mornings.

Group Administrator (small group)
Responsible for coordinating the announcements, prayer times, and communication to the group.

Office Volunteer
There are occasions when ClearView’s office has different projects that require additional sets of hands to complete. These projects can be anything from folding large numbers of brochures to stamping envelopes. The schedule for these tasks is usually flexible for the volunteer.

WORSHIP MINISTRY

Worship Choir
Create an engaging worship experience by executing the worship experience and being prepared.

Vocal Team
Create an engaging worship experience by executing the worship experience and being prepared.

Band
Create an engaging worship experience by executing the worship experience and being prepared.

Orchestra
Create an engaging worship experience by executing the worship experience and being prepared.

Production (sound, media, lighting)
Create an environment for people to engage in worship by assisting in the execution of the production of the worship service in the Chapel and/or Worship Center.
