Psalms: Cries for Glory

"The delightful study of the Psalms has yielded me boundless profit and ever growing pleasure..." -Charles Spurgeon from Treasury of David

A deep and thoughtful Holy Spirit guided study of the Psalms is food and drink to the soul of every believer. In its verses you find comfort and joy in the loving-kindness of our God. What you also find is reality. The book of Psalms is not just a collection random praises, but a picture of what real suffering looks like. It shows us real feelings like doubt, fear, and all other human emotions. It gives a presepective on how to view all of those through the gospel. It gives us a deeper look into what true repentance is. More than anything, it reveals to us more of who God is and all of the glory He deserves. We are created for His glory and if the book of Psalms tells us anything it is that our life "cries for glory." It longs to be in His glory and radiate His glory in the depths of the peaks and valleys of our life.

This is why I am so excited about the new Mid-Week Study that will be starting Jan. 7th in the Worship Center. We will seek to drench ourselves in the truth found in the Psalms. We will have various high quality teachers rotating through to guide us through the treasure that God has given us in the Psalms.

I look forward to growing in the word with all of you, starting Jan. 7th at 6:00pm.
