Clearview sent a team of 29 adults to serve September 10-15 for the seventh consecutive year at Oneida Baptist Institute, Oneida, KY.
The boarding school was established in 1899 and is now owned by the Kentucky Baptist Convention.
Team members worked on varied projects: (1) remodeling three bathrooms and a faculty house; (2) organizing clothing and other items at the Friendship House thrift store open to faculty, students and the community; (3) making crafts for the gift shop and Homecoming celebration; (4) cutting out box tops used for purchasing computers and other items; (5) working in the school library; and (6) cutting hair for students and faculty,
In addition, the team delivered a check for $12,500 raised from team members, Bible study groups and individual donations. The money will cover remodeling projects and other campus projects.
This year’s team included five members who had not participated in previous years and several who have participated in every mission trip to Oneida.
Clearview member Dr. Al Parks originated the idea for the annual project and has served as coordinator. He announced on this year’s trip that 2018 will be his final trip.
