New Orleans Women's Team

Day 5

We've had such a great trip! Thank you so much for all of your prayers! We have been blessed in so many ways and know it is because we have been prayed for by so many of you.

We had a great couple of afternoons hanging out with the kids on Martinique & Driftwood. We were able to visit with them, provide snacks, share God's Word, and play games that helped reiterate the Bible stories. This morning, we went back to the community and brought some of the families with us to Hope Church!

Last night was our Women's Banquet and despite the downpour of rain, it went off without a hitch! All the women seemed to really enjoy themselves and were encouraged by the music and words shared from God's Word through a wonderful and transparent speaker. One woman even texted Pastor Matt and said that she felt like she'd been to a "Holy Ghost spa."

This morning, we went to prayer time and service at Hope Church where Matt shared an awesome message, wrapping up their study in Romans.

At lunch today, we each shared specific names of people whom God gave us a personal connection and laid them on our hearts so we would pray for them. It was a blessing to hear all the different names and reasons why they touched our hearts. Here are some of the names if you feel led to lift their names in prayer as well:  Ms. Semone, Tata, Trina, Matt & Elaine & kids (AnnaClaire, David, & Charlotte), Victor (single dad with 3 children), Julian, Jalen, Danielle, Caroline, Lisa, & Jess.

Please continue to pray for Hope Church and the work they are doing locally and globally in the future. They have a deep desire to share the love of Jesus with anyone. Pray that their members will be leaders in the church as they continue to grow and mature in Christ.

Day 4

Today we started our morning at Hope Church. We cleaned and prepared for the women's dinner. A few of the women that we met this week came to help and we had lunch and Bible study together. It gave us some time to get to know them a little better.

The banquet was a success. The room was filled with precious women. The rain poured down outside but those ladies didn't let that stop them from coming! The music and the speaker were awesome. We've had a great trip and it's been such a blessing to get to spend time and build relationships with the people of Kenner.

Prayer requests:

The hearts that were touched and the seeds that were planted will continue to grow closer to God.

Safe travels on our way home.

Day 3

God is good! Today was a great day in New Orleans! The forecast for today started out with 100% rain. However, other than some rain at our afternoon kids camp site earlier in the day, the rain held off. We even had a rainbow this afternoon to remind us of what a great God we serve.

This morning we immersed ourselves in true New Orleans culture by visiting downtown New Orleans. This afternoon we hosted another kids camp on Martinique. The weather cleared up just in time for the kids to get off the bus and join us for a Bible story about the fruit of the Spirit and games. The kids have been such a blessing to us!

Tomorrow is the women's banquet. Please pray that God will softened and open the hearts of all the women coming to the banquet and that we will have the right words to say to everyone we encounter.

Please pray for the children we have seen the last two days in Kenner. Hopefully seeds have been planted in their lives.

Please also pray that our team will remain healthy for the remainder of the trip.

Day 2

What a fabulous day we have had in Martinique and Kenner. We spent time this morning putting out flyers, sharing about our Womens' Banquet and our childrens' time this afternoon. We prayed over the houses in the community and were so blessed by the children and families we met this afternoon.

Please pray specifically for:

Skip - the husband of the hotel assistant manager, having emergency arm surgery tomorrow.

Dorita - that she would be drawn to a body of believers and grow in her relationship with God.

Everyone in the homes where we hung door hangers today

A lady, somewhat involved with Hope Church, has been actively involved in assisting our team today navigating through the neighborhoods

Kelley and Vanessa from the hotel

Trina and Tata from Martinque

Amana from Hope Church that her parents will find a church home in AL where they feel loved and cared for.

Please pray that God will prepare and open the hearts of the ladies coming to the banquet on Saturday.

Please pray specifically for Frankeya, our speaker for Saturday, who has been sick this week. Pray that she will feel better.

Please pray that our team will remain healthy and safe in all the areas we are visiting!

We are so blessed with a phenomenal group of ladies who thoroughly love being together and have huge servants' hearts!

Day 1

Greetings from New Orleans! We have arrived safely to our destination of Hope Church in Metairie, LA.

Tonight, we had time of prayer with members of Hope Church concerning the Women's Banquet on Saturday night. Please join us in praying for the attendees. Many of these women have very real life struggles and we want to encourage them and show them Christ's love.

After a time of prayer, Pastor Matt Tipton shared with us the history of Hope Church and the culture of the community. We will begin early in the morning passing out flyers regarding the Women's Banquet and Kids After-School events.

Please pray for our team as we begin our ministry tomorrow morning. We are excited and covet all prayers.
