Middle School Nashville Missions Trip 2016

Update 1: BKC Kickoff Party

The Middle School Missions Team did an outstanding job planning and executing the Backyard Kids Club Bash to kick off our Liberty Elementary site. It gave me huge joy to see the Women’s Ministry (with many of their husbands) and the Student Ministry work together—a beautiful picture of intergenerational ministry.

On Friday morning and Sunday afternoon, students and adults canvassed the surrounding neighborhoods and apartment complexes, inviting people to the party. We were thrilled when 25 children AND their families came to our Sunday evening event, and those 25 children are now registered for the Liberty Elementary BKC!

We enjoyed grilled hotdogs, bounce houses, games, and good conversation. Many of the parents we met shared stories of moving their families to the United States and learning the English language to provide better opportunities for their children. This community is precious, and these families are so thankful for Liberty Elementary School. I look forward to seeing how the Lord will continue to work as women share the Gospel this week through Bible study, music, crafts, games, and snacks. I’m more excited now about ClearView’s partnership with Liberty. Thank you to the middle schoolers for serving the Nashville area this week!

I really had a blast with this event. The Lord has given me a heart for those who live near, and He showed me a part of Franklin that I’ve fallen in love with!
