ClearView's History
1983—Sixteen families joined to form “The Mission on Moore’s Lane.” The mission was sponsored by Brentwood Baptist and the Nashville Baptist Association and met in the auditorium of the former Southwestern Company at Cool Springs.
1984—The name ClearView Baptist Church was chosen. Services were held at Brentwood High School beginning Easter Sunday.
1985—First revival held under a tent at “Ellersley.” Bob Norman was the guest speaker. He later accepted a call to become the church’s first full-time pastor. The church was constituted as a Southern Baptist Church with 103 charter members. In a ceremony at Judson Baptist Church, ClearView was elected into the membership of Nashville Baptist Association. Brentwood Baptist sold the property on Moore’s Lane (now the location of The Landings) and acquired the Franklin Road property.
1988—Facilities of Phase 1, Building A were used for services for the first time. Room in the Inn ministry began in November.
1990—2.9 acres known as the Sullivan property was purchased.
1995—Phase II of Building A was completed bringing it to its present capacity.
1996—Bro. Bob Norman retired and became Pastor Emeritus.
1997—Dr. Bret Robbe accepted a call to become the church’s second Pastor.
2000—Church Membership surpassed 1000 members. ClearView began Upward Basketball Ministry. The church began having 3 Sunday School hours and two worship services. Phase III of construction began.
2001—Phase III of construction was completed opening educational space in the first two floors of Building B.
2002—The third floor of Building B was completed for the use of our Youth Ministry. Messianic Jewish Congregation became a mission of ClearView. The church voted to establish Cool Springs Christian Ministries to minister to our community. Mission projects were conducted on 5 continents. ClearView participated in first Habitat House building project. The church provided housing and support for 7 Ukrainian immigrant families who were
2003—ClearView sponsored mission churches: West Franklin Baptist Church, The Bridge in Spring Hill, TN and Mosaic Manhattan Church in New York, NY. The church approved the purchase of the Brown property (6.8 acres) north of our present property bringing the total property to 24 acres.
2004— ClearView Membership
2005— The church approved a Master Facilities Plan and conducted a fund-raising campaign, Seeking God's View, that collected $5.6 million in contributions and pledges to be received over a three-year period toward construction of a chapel and expanded educational space.
2006— ClearView reached the milestone of 2,000 members. ClearView purchased the Savage property, 25.89 acres, adjacent and north of current property. Plans proceeded toward groundbreaking for 2007. Bret Robbe resigns as pastor and a search process began.
2007— In March 2007 the Concept/Master Plan for the entire campus of ClearView was approved by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. Plans proceeded toward groundbreaking for fall 2007.
