Our Pastor
Mark Marshall
I am most comfortable in a lounge chair sitting by a pool reading a book while and looking out at the ocean. But then again, who isn’t? I love Tex-Mex (see Chuys) and chocolate pie is my poison of choice. When I am not in the crow’s nest upstairs in the house built in 1875 on the ClearView property or hiding away in an offsite location studying for Sundays, you might find me on a golf course. OK, so you might find me in the woods just off the course looking for my last errant shot. But I still love it.
I came to serve ClearView as Pastor May 1, 2007. After being in a parachurch ministry for 10 years, I returned to the local church with a passion to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. That is our purpose and our vision at ClearView. I have the privilege and the responsibility of being the lead teacher of God’s Word week by week at ClearView. The thing that gets me up in the mornings is seeing people’s lives changed by the power of God in their lives. My greatest concern for the church in the western world today is the lack of discipleship. So my primary focus is to “make disciples” who are disciple makers (Matthew 28:19-20).
I have two daughters (Tiffany and Brittany) who have both grown into amazing young ladies despite my deficiencies as a father. I attribute that to the grace of God and to the phenomenal lady God gave me as a wife and gave to my daughters as a mother. Leigh Ann and I were married March 17, 1984. She brings stability and joy into my life beyond anything I deserve.
My aim in life is to serve God faithfully as Pastor of ClearView until I am too old to pull it off. During the years in front of us, we will be a part of making disciples who are radical enough to give everything they have to see God made famous to the ends of the earth.
